Dhuni Pooja at Sivapuri, Nagole

Fire has a special place in our religions. Praying fire, or doing a homam on all auspicious occassions is a part of our culture. There is a deeper meaning to this act.

Fire is a symbol of Guru. Every disciple who is away from the Guru, treats fire as Guru and feels the presence. This is same as what Sri Shirdi Sai Baba did. His Guru told him that he would be with Baba all the time. To reflect the same, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba performed Niratagnihotram or Dhuni in his place.

Many Mahatmas had dhuni. Hence, when we do dhuni pooja, we have to remember that we are in the presence of all those Mahatmas and pray earnestly for their blessings. We have to feel their presence during dhuni pooja. It is also said that we have to submit ourselves to Guru and to symbolize that, we use firewood to light the Agni. This means that we are burning our ego which is firewood, in Agni, that is Guru and thus, submitting ourselves completely to HIM.

To remind the same to all Satsang members and to prepare them mentally for the forthcoming Dattajayanthi, to enable everyone to gain most, dhuni pooja is being performed at Sivapuri, Nagole in Divyajanani's presence with Sri Sai Master's and Divyajanani's blessings. Sri Dwarakanath Jnaneswar is performing the same.
