Visiting Mahatmas - Poondi Swamy

Jai Sai Master!

In the year in which we are celebrating and expressing our gratitude to Sri Sai Master, who encouraged many to visit Mahatmas all over, it would be nice to have a darshan of those through vitual medium.

One such Mahatma is Sri Poondi Swamy of Kalasapakkam near Tiruvannamalai (20 km from Arunachala). “We are all like bulbs but Poondi Swamigal is like a transmitter.  Unless the switch is on there, the bulbs will not burn giving light”.  These words were uttered not less a person than the Kanchi Periawal Sri Chandrasekara Saraswathi Swamigal who has been revered and worshipped by thousands of his devotees as God incarnation. (from "http://poondimahan.org/about.html")

HE stayed in a house till the final moment. A temple is built on HIS samadhi now. The house where HE used to give darshan is below. The small window through which people used to offer and have darshan of this great Mahatma. He used to sit facing the window and today, one can see a statue in the same place.

In the temple, pooja is held every day to the Samadhi (shown below). HIS padukas form part of the puja material.

One can see some rare photos of Swamiji preserved by the care taker of the place, who conducts daily programs in the temple.

Jai Sai Master!!
