Vinayaka Chathurthi - A festival to celebrate humanness and nature!

Jai Sai Master!

Today, all over India, people celebrate Vinayaka Chathurthi with reverence. Pandals on the streets, in the house with the families and friends, a real joyful day. Particularly for kids, who are told to keep their books and pray to the Lord Ganesha for the "success".

With time, this festival also became a regular affair with people bringing in Ganesha idols made of plaster of paris and with paints etc.. However, with someone telling us all as to what is the importance of each festival, understanding and realising the importance of festival of Lord Ganesha has become more meaningful and a day of joy. In search of a SADGURU

Jai Sai Master!

Every being who is born as a HUMAN, has to make best use of the opportunity to understand why this world is not full of similar species and why human form is one of the many species on the face of this earth. For this, one needs to really understand the philosophy behind the evolution and philosophy behind being a HUMAN.

Fortunately, for all those who are born in this side of globe, there is a definite opportunity to search and understand the reasons behind such parity in species. Especially in India, which is a land of spirituality and the place many seekers walked every nook and corners in search of Mahatmas, the answers for those questions are easy to get by, if searched with integrity, focus and with all might one can.

Though, nay-sayers are always around to contradict with every possible name, Indians are fortunate to have many Mahatmas in their midst. Like Sri Adi Sankaracharya, who went to nook and corner of this great spiritual land called INDIA, there are Mahatmas every where. Only problem is they are not visible to naked eyes, full of vices. One needs to take up sadhana to find them, as they provide the key to the answers one is searching for and to go through the door to the LORD. They become the GURU to the deserved one and provide the help to unlock the door.

Lifetime Teachings 11- SAI MASTER SAYS.....

Jai Sai Master!

On the eve of Sri Gurucharitra Kritagnatarchana, it would be prudent to understand why we need to do this. In many places, the Granth, the holy book is treated as the very Lord, who stays with us and in our home. In Sri Guru charitra, it is also mentioned that the Sri Guru resides in the form of this holy book and it is important to constantly remind ourselves of this fact while doing parayana.

Lifetime Teachings 10- BABA SAYS.....

Jai Sai Master!

In Sri Sai Leelamrutam, we find that Kushabhau, Sathe and Hemadpanth reached a stage where they could be blessed by Sri Shirdi Sai Baba in the best manner, only after they did parayana of Sri Gurucharitra. Sri Vasudevananda Saraswati, Rangavadhuta and Nane Maharaj were all given directions and enabled to receive the blessings of their Guru to  become mahatmas, only after they did parayana of this holy book, Sri Guru Charitra.  After second avatar of Lord Datta, Sri Nrisimha Saraswati left this world, Namadharaka, who heard about HIS greatness through various leelas performed by the Lord, comes to Sri Kshetra Gangapur. There, Sri Nrisimha Saraswati appears to him as Siddha in his dream. When Namadharaka wakes up, Siddha yogi, appears to him in physical form and recites Sri Gurucharitra to him..

Sri Shirdi Sai Baba told many to follow this process and thus reiterated the point that this is the only way to find a Sadguru. As one reads this holy book, they become aware of dharma and start living in the way. Slowly their yearning becomes so great, that Sadguru comes to him as a mother comes to the child. Then that Sadguru takes the yearning disciple in to HIS fold and takes him in the path of salvation.

Independence and Indian Culture - Sri Sai Master's message on our Independence day!

Jai Sai Master!

Freedom is not the right to do what we want, but what we ought to; Let us have faith that right makes might and in that faith let us; to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it- Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States (1809-1865)

We are celebrating our 65th year of Independence tomorrow. Many of us, may not give much importance to the word "freedom", as we have not yet experienced the same or we do not bother much of it. This is more so, as we have not understood what it means to us and we continue to live in our own small world, with boundaries and with fear and anxiety and other issues.

Our country which lost its freedom around 12th century got its freedom in the year 1947 August 15th. Every country has a special character and so is India. India is known as land of spirituality and purely due to this, our country survived many an onslaught. Probably this is the only country where many religions are co-existing, peacefully, although we see some ups and downs here and there. On the whole, we embrace any religion or any faith, which is a hall mark of spiritual independence, the biggest factor for any country to stay on top. If one observers carefully, even though the Muslim kings died and their influence died, their religion stayed mostly due to Mahatmas like Hazrat Khwaja Moiddin Chisti and his disciples. Many Hindus visit these famous darga and they serve there too.

One of the tall leaders of freedom struggle, Sri Balagangadhar Tilak paid visits to Shegaon and Shirdi and took blessings of Sri Gajanan Maharaj and Sri Shirdi Sai Baba. When Sri Tilak asked Sri Shirdi Sai Baba on freedom, Sri Sai Baba told him that he did enough selflessly and told him to sleep. Sri Sai Baba also indicated that someone else who is responsible for that would come. As indicated, Mahathma Gandhi came after Sri Tilak died and he lead from the front the independence movement. Lord Krishna appeared to Sri Aurobindo when he was jailed and on Lord's command, an Ashram was constructed at Pondicherry and became a realised soul.

Sri Sai Leelamrutam - The Secret of Gita!

Jai Sai Master!

Today world over, crores of people are celebrating Lord Krishna's birthday - Krishnastami. A day, which reminds us of the importance of being a HUMAN, for only we are blessed to understand the great teachings of this JAGADGURU.

Everyone remembers various deeds done by Lord Krishna. However, what HE did in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, is the best that happened to the mankind. BHAGAVADGITA. This itself shows what Lord wanted every human to do. This was made possible, only because Arjun went on questioning. This is the most important point of all. Till Arjuna treated Lord Krishna, though with all due respect, HE remained a normal charioteer. The moment Arjuna bowed and accepted HIM, HE became Arjuna's GURU and delivered Gita.

Today, many places, Gita is recited by many and everyone has their own style of delivering it. Because of their perspective towards religion or GOD, the way Gita is explained changes. Due to this, we are left wondering which is the right one. In Sri Sai Leelamrutam, the answer was given by Sri Shirdi Sai, for Gita was delivered to a disciple by a GURU or JAGADGURU, to clear his mind and to give him the right perspective on life. When the disciple was finding it difficult, the Lord showed him the reality through Viswarupam or gave a feel of OMNIPRESENCE of HIM. This shattered the myth of life to the disciple, Arjuna and fought with responsibility without attachments.

Sri Shirdi Sai, asked Nana to explain the verse in Gita (4:34). When Nana, who recited this for years, could not explain properly, Sri Sai Baba explained the real meaning of the same and unlocked the secret of understanding Gita in right sense and in turn defined the purpose of life for every human being. Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, who belonged to all and at the same time to none, due to HIS non-attachment to any particular religion or caste or creed, made everyone understand that the real purpose of life is to find a Sadguru and seek his protection. Apart from this, there is no other way of getting realisation. HE also showed how to search for a Sadguru (through continuous parayana or Sri Gurucharitra and biographies of other Mahatmas and follow them till the day, Sadguru comes to him and gives blessings).

Hence, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba is the avatar of this Yuga or Kaliyuga and HE is the JAGADGURU.

On this auspicious day of Krishnastami, may we bow to HIM and seek his blessings to find a Sadguru to walk on the path to realisation.

Science and Sprituality_2- The Progress

Jai Sai Master!

Today, the natural leaning of human kind, or of the majority of human kind, stands somewhere between believer and non-believer of the word GOD. Many a people feel shy to talk about GOD or the related matters, feigning mostly based on the situation they are in. In sly, however, they tend to fear to do anything that remotely feels "against GOD". Why do people develop this perspective? Do we feel inferior thinking that current science contradicts belief in GOD? I feel, this is purely due to improper handing over of knowledge or Knowledge transfer from generation to generations or IMPROPER UNDERSTANDING OF OUR HOLY SCRIPTURES.

We look up to the west thinking that development is happening there and science is progressing rapidly, while it is a fact that our older generations had better knowledge of everything. In this information technology age, when everything can be searched for, we rarely do the right thing, but still depend on tit-bits or hearsay. Unfortunate!

How many of us know that Sri Bharadwaja Maharshi wrote a book named "Yantra Sastram" which describes various machines, planes and their parts? It explains in detail how one can escape enemy planes or directional guides etc..(Vymanika Sastram). Sri Rama asks Bharata whether the fort is being protected by machines appropriately. Raja Bhoja in his scripture "Samarangana Sutradhara" explains what qualities should be there for machine parts, their inter-dependence, perfection and tuning etc for sound proof movement and fuel efficiency. In chapter 31, the generation of hydraulic power is explained.
