A Vijayadasami wish - Let us cross the line!

Jai Sai Master!

There is a real meaning behind celebrating every festival around the year. Particularly for a festival like Vijaya Dasami, there is a lot of meaning and infact, a new life starts on this day for many. Those who are aspiring for success in something, start in right earnest on this day. If we look back at some of the great people as to what they did, it gives us an idea what we should be aspiring for. Leave aside progress of mankind or progress of science to prove the existence of God or such. Let us for a moment think simple and straight to understand what a human being needs to live without any frustration or to live with love and compassion emulating the great nature around us. Probably, a leaf out of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba gives us an idea what we should aspire for and probably that can inspire us to set out on the path for this Vijaya Dasami.

We compartmentalise our daily life with many things, our own God, our own life, ourself etc.. When we have to accommodate others, many issues crop up in our mind. Being in the society or having a social fabric, this compartmentalisation does not help for our transition in to different roles that we play in our every day life, say from a parent to a responsible citizen. Because, we have not crossed our LINE that we ourselves have drawn around us. First one around self, second one around all of us (including those whom we love), third one around us, which includes larger mass of near and dear ones...like this. Because of these many, we can not see beyond or we can not share our love and compassion with others. Here is what Sri Shirdi Sai Baba did on one Vijaya Dasami, shortly before HIS samadhi in the year 1916.

HE removed the cloth on HIS body and stood with bloodshot eyes and shouted at everyone to check whether HE is a muslim or hindu. HE also said that it was a day on which HE crossed the boundary (seema).   This has a much deeper meaning. This act is telling everyone to think beyond everyone's small circles of life which is preventing us to look beyond and to share our lives with others with love and compassion. Leave aside the differences on various issues and drop the opinions. Let us forget that we are "leading" our life. Let us start appreciating what is around us and open our eyes to others around us. Suddenly it opens up a different world.

Let us all wish each other a HAPPY VIJAYA DASAMI. Let us all CROSS OUR BOUNDARY...OUR SEEMAS to embrace the world to make it a happy one!

WIth utmost gratitude to the Greatest HUMAN BEING ever on this land, SRI SAI MASTER who made us all understand the yugavatar, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba!

Jai Sai Master!!
