Kartika Deepam - a special day for everyone to light the lamps which signify the lamps within. That too when it happpens in the presence of Mahatmas, or when the Guru lights the lamp, the day becomes a significant day in one's life.

Bhagavan said about this day as - "The true significance of kartika deepam is to turn the intellect inwards and have it fixed in the heart, there by merging it with the indweller of the heart"
At Nagole, the gathered few witnessed the great event as evening passed by giving way to light emanating from the lamps specially prepared for the day.
